MS7: Week 1 Check-In

Well, I was a curse breaker. Just barely. After posting my numbers on Monday, I gained a bit of weight when I stepped on the scale on Tuesday morning. But, I buckled down to face the challenge and won. I really pushed myself in my cardio last night. That probably helped too.

My official numbers for the first check-in on this milestone are -2.6 for the week/milestone and -51.8 total. I made my exercise goal; both in terms of total minutes and breakdown (3 weight lifting, 2 cardio). Renee is back and I worked out with her Monday and I will again on Friday (to make up for missing last week). It was a tough workout on Monday. My quads and glutes are still sore. Tonight I won't be working out. I've got plans with friends. I'll do cardio again on Thursday and then weights on Friday. Based on that timing, knowing that I can only lift every other day, and on the fact that I'm going home to visit the family this weekend, I'm pretty sure I won't meet my exercise goals for week 2. I should be able to make the total minutes goal, but it will be 3 cardio and 2 weight days in the best case scenario - worst case I'll miss goal and get in 2 of each.

I'll be in Birmingham on March 6 and 7. Which will cause a great challenge in many ways. Traveling, interruption to my exercise routine, and limited control over what I can eat (meals are preordained by the vendor). I am going to try to post good numbers on my weight loss goal again next week in preparation for a potentially bad week in week three. If I can get a little ahead, it won't be disappointing if I lose a little ground in week three. We'll see if that works. Knowing me, even if I do well in weeks 1 and 2 and gain a bit in week 3, I'll still be disappointed just a smidgen.

Until later. . .

Think Smart. Eat Well. Move More.
