I'm tired today...

And I have no idea why. I went to bed around 10:00 and slept until 6:00. That's 8 hours. I guess the tiredness probably started yesterday. I went for a run yesterday after work, hoping to run 4.5 of the 5 mile loop. About 5 minutes into it I knew that wouldn't be happening. In the end, I did a shorter loop; 3.5 miles and I didn't even run all of that! Maybe it was because it was warm outside (83 or so). Maybe I was just tired. What ever it was, my heart rate kept going higher than I wanted it to go. I know I have a gap in my HR training zones; around the 140-150 range. It's hard to get within that range and nearly impossible to keep it there. Oddly, I can run better and longer when my heart rate is higher; in the 157-161 range. So, I ran -- or trotted, really --trying to get within that zone. Not happening. If I walked, it would quickly drop down (to the 120 range). If I ran, it would go up into the 159-161 range. So, it wasn't a dangerous range to be in it was just higher than it should have been for how slowly I was going.

Knowing that I was coming off that back deal and accepting that yesterday just wasn't an "on" day, I took the short route and walked, briskly, for about 1.75 miles of it. I ran about 1.5 miles then circuit trained for the last 2 miles: walk for 1-2 minutes then ran (not jogged) for 1 minute. All in all I got done in 40 minutes but I really didn't enjoy any of it.

Today was a lifting day with Renee. I was yawning during the entire drive to the studio. The lift ended up going respectably well. We didn't need to change the weights at all and I finished all reps and set. I even, accidentally, used 20 lbs weights for my last set of split lunges instead of the 15 lbs weights I should have been using. Duh!

Tomorrow I'm heading to Duluth for two days with my sister and her family. We're taking A to see UMD. My plan is to get a run in in the morning before they get here to pick me up. That means I need to get up at 5:00 and finish the run by 6:00 so I can shower and eat, and get ready to go. They'll be here around 7:00-7:15. I don't expect to be able to workout on Saturday so I really want to get this run in tomorrow. An option if tomorrow doesn't happen, is to run Saturday morning - we're staying in Superior, WI so it would be pretty assuming it's not too hilly!

I won't blog again until Sunday. I'll report in then.

Oh, I'm down a little from yesterday! Yeah! I've been very careful about what I ate. Not one single cheat yesterday. Today, I am well within my calorie goal range but I did have some candy so all of the calories weren't "good" calories. I suppose that's still technically a cheat. I think it was an emotional snack. I suppose it's good that I can ID that. I had an MRI this morning -- part of the steps my doctor is taking to figure out why I've fainted twice and nearly fainted once. It gave me quite the headache too. Now, just waiting for the results.

Until later . . .
