Running Progress

I did the 5 mile loop last night in 59 minutes. That included running all of it expect the first 4 minutes which were warm up. So, all in all, I think I probably ran 4.75 of the 5 miles (in 55 minutes). That's good progress. Next time out will be "race pace" again. That is, working on the 3 mile portion and getting that time down. I'd like to shave 1 minute off. The time after that, will be the 5 mile loop again. I plan to walk a bit in the neighborhood for my warm up and then run the full 5 miles. Once I can do that, that will become my regular routine (running the full 5)and I'll work on getting the time down. I have 7 weeks to get about 8-9 minutes off the run. That's a little over 1 minute faster each time I go out. I'm also altering the way I run the route. The route is basically a "figure 8" or the letter "B" so I have a few different options on how to run it so the hills aren't always at the same spot of the run.

I run twice a week, once focusing on the 3 mile and once on the 5 mile. Both of them doable in terms of overall distance. I'm just working on increasing the pace on both of them.

I'm at the camper this weekend. I'll lift today and Sunday and have Saturday as my day off . I'm due, I haven't had a day off since last Friday. I'm going to try REALLY hard to not gain any weight over the weekend. Renee will be doing measurements again soon, either this week or next and I want to be down a couple of pounds - back to my lowest weight she's every seen. That last two check-ins have shown weight increases but only one of those showed an increase in body fat. I won't let that happen again!!
