My weight is up today, back to that blasted number I can't stay away from. I lose a few pounds (as many as 5) then eventually end back up in the same spot. I know some of the gain is a cyclical gain but still -- DANG!
Three days till the Tiger Tracks 5K. I plan to run 3.25 miles tonight - and walk/jog another 1.75. Tomorrow is a lifting day with my trainer. Friday will be a rest day - or maybe a nice casual walk but definitely something low key so I have full energy going into the race on Saturday. I have no doubts about completing it. Even without knowing the slope of the course, I'm even pretty confident that I can finish it in under 30 minutes. My goal, hope, dream is to finish it in 27 or less minutes. I think my sister and her family are coming out to watch - so that's good motivation too!
On the medical front - I'm still seeing doctors (cardiologist, neurologist, electrophysiologist) to figure out why I fainted three times now. Can anyone say "COPAY"? They all suspect that it's VasoVagal Syncope that I have but they are doing quite a bit of testing to rule out serious problems first - hence the slew of doctors visits. I have my sleep deprivation-EEG next week (9/9). Hopefully, that will rule out any type of seizure and/or brain wave issues. MIR, heart monitor, echo-cardiogram, and stress test have all come back normal. The MIR was "essentially" normal, which once explained made sense but the word essentially threw me for a loop until I talked to the doctor.
In any event, I've never had an "episode" while exercising so the doctors all told me to continue on as I have been. So, that's what I'm doing. The cardiologist suspects that it's the VasoVagal thing and that my "trigger" is an electrolyte imbalance. If that's the case, I need to eat a higher sodium diet while my exercise levels are what they are (6-7 hours of exercise a week). Low sodium + lost of H20 + lost of exercise (sweating) = low electrolytes = Wanda fainting. Not good. Tends to freak out the people around me. Oddly, I freaked out the first time and since then, not so much.
