I'm sore

I did 60+ minutes of strengthening/toning last night. I know I got a good workout because I can feel it. I'm sure this would be a 'duh' moment for people who have done this sort of thing before. I haven't so I'm still learning. I guess that's one of the psychological benefits of doing weight or resistance training. . . you can tell how hard you worked by the way your body feels the next day. On a good cardio day, I will be exhausted immediately following the workout, but the recovery is very quick -- maybe a couple of hours. Not so with weight training. I'm exhausted after AND sore the next day. My legs and shoulders are sore/tired today. It was a big groan that came from my mouth when I had to lift my arms to wash my hair in the shower this morning.

That makes today a cardio day, and as odd is it sound coming from me, I think I'm looking forward to it to work out some of my stiffness. I'm glad that is 'written' down because I never expected to have that attitude.

I've spent some time thinking about my goals for my next milestone, which begins tomorrow. I'll post them tomorrow.

Weight: -1.5 from yesterday (may be water weight?), -31 total

Exercise: 60 (cardio)

Ah, I love muscle training. I'd rather do the weights any day than the cardio. You're right--the soreness always makes me feel good and proud, and I never really feel that same soreness doing plain cardio. Great work! The bad news--you'll probably be even more sore tomorrow.

Doing a cardio workout the next day helped to minimize much of the soreness. Today's a Renee day, so we'll see how I feel tomorrow!
