MS8: Week 4 Check-In

The good news is that my back is definitely on the mend. I still get stiffness and pain in the mornings but it's usually pretty much loosened up after an hour or two. I'm down to just using the muscle relaxers at night. I think I'm going to take them again tonight and then try not using them on Thursday night. I don't want to take them any more than I have to.

I've determined that the new exercise routine, while effective, is pretty boring. It will be three times a week for three weeks doing the exact same exercises. The only change is increasing the reps and decreasing the weight. The nutrition plan is also more aggressive than Renee originally told me. I'm looking at targeting 210 grams of protein a day (that's TONS) and around 50-70 grams of carbs. I'll do that for 5 days then follow it up with two days of high carbs -- I love that! -- and lower protein (54 grams). Then back to the 5 days of high carbs. I need to follow this for three weeks. She said I'd definitely have to supplement on my high protein days with protein bars and shakes. Over all, the calorie intake is the same. This is just shifting the balance.

This week I'm down -1.2 pounds, -1.6 for this milestone, and -57.6 total. I exceeded my exercise goal by 15 minutes. I'm glad that I'm headed in the right direction again. That 1.8 pound gain in week 1 of this milestone was a set back. I'm hoping I can still make my goal of 7 pounds for this milestone. Hopefully this new nutrition plan and exercise routine will help.

Until later. . .

Think Smart. Eat Well. Move More.
