MS9: Week 5 Check-In

Where did the week go? Sure went fast. For week 5, I'm down 1.2 pounds, putting me at -1.6 for this milestone, and -67.4 total. This is shaping up to be a pretty pitiful milestone. Still moving in the right direction. I've just dropped to a snail's pace. I'm doing a good job of meeting my exercise goals. Overall, doing well watching what I'm eating. The weekends just flat out kill me. I regress from any progress I made during the week and spend the couple of days after the weekend playing the catch-up game.

Maybe I should roll a boulder in front of my cave (with me on the inside) on Friday evenings. You can't eat what you don't have. And, oddly and fortunately, I don't crave what I don't see or don't have. At home, if I have an urge to snack, I only have healthy snacks so even an 'off schedule' snack is only as bad as some extra fruit, a yogurt, or maybe a low-fat/low-carb protein bar or shake. On the flip side, having temptations on weekends in eye sight are irresistible. Chips, cookies, candy. I see it. I want it. I eat it. Blinders might also work. =) Seriously, maybe I need to coax a family member into being my watch dog. I'm pretty sure they'd do it if only I'd ask for help. That's the hard part -- asking for help. I want to be able to do it myself *stomps foot, thrusts out lower lip, and pouts like a kid*.

Until later. . .

Think Smart. Eat Well. Move More.
