MS7: Week 2 Check-In

This has been a tough week; both in terms of meeting my milestone objectives and just getting through the week. Everything has been busy; work, home, and life in general. I almost forgot to post my update! Can't let that happen. Since I'm a 'black or white' type of person -- not shades of grey for me -- I need to be fully committed, not letting anything slide, or I end up letting everything slide. In most areas of my life this all or nothing attitude serves me well. Other times (like this), not so much.

I exceeded my exercise goals by 15 minutes. I got in an extra day (6 times rather than 5) but my three cardio days were 45 minutes each. That's a good thing. Something I'm happy about for this check-in.

My scale wasn't as kind to me. I'm up .4 for this week. That puts me at -2.2 for this milestone and -51.4 total. While that's disappointing, I'm not going to (or at least I'm going to try not to) get hung up on the number. I'm still lifting regularly so I think this is going to happen. My clothes continue to grow -- or rather I'm shrinking -- so I know I'm doing the right thing. I'm down another notch, to the last notch, on a couple of belts. So the inches are leaving me whether or not that 'number' is reflected on the scale. According to my home measurements, I've lost about 3.25 inches since February 1 (6 overall measurements: waist, hips, chest, thigh, calf, and bicep). That's very cool. I'll measure again on April 1 (no foolin').

Next week will be even tougher as I'll be at home visiting my family over this weekend and I'll be traveling for work. Traveling will wreck havoc with both my food plan and my exercise plan. In addition, I envision a couple of late nights at work (getting ready for being away) which will also limit my ability to work out. So, while I hate to make excuses and I will try hard, I really don't think I'll make my exercise goals. Hopefully, the 'numbers' will be kind. I'll be checking in next week on Thursday (rather than Wednesday) since I'll be in Alabama on my regular check-in day.

Until later. . .

Think Smart. Eat Well. Move More.
