MS15: Week 1 Check-In

Ahhh! It's so nice to be reporting that I'm past the -100 pound marker. Based on the recommendation of my Doctor and the RD, I'm targeting losing another 5-7 pounds. With persistence, I should be reporting in at 'maintenance mode' some time during my 16th milestone. Holy cow! That will be so cool; and a little bit weird. It will certainly be an adjustment.

The RD, my Dr, and my trainer all tell me that when I get to my goal, to stop paying attention to the scale. I'm not sure I know how to do that. What will I do each morning after I pee but before I get in the shower? =) Like anything, I'm sure I'll have to get away from my 'scale obsession' in small steps. I think I'll start with weighing in on Wednesdays and Fridays. Once I get over that shock, I'll drop back to just Wednesday's (my check-in days). I think, based on how my mind works, that I'll have to continue at least weekly check-ins just to know that I know how to be in maintenance mode. I also believe it's going to take me a while to figure out the balance of calories in versus calories out. Specifically, I think maintenance mode will be greater than the 1,500 calories I'm targeting now. But, what that number is, I am not certain. Based on the BMR, it should be around 1,800. Until I know that, I think I'll need to check-in weekly to see, to know, to be sure. I've come so far. And I won't go back. Period.

This week:

  • -2.4 pounds
  • -2.4 for this milestone
  • -100.4 total

I met my exercise goal and flew right by; 360 minutes and 6 days.

Until later . . .

Think Smart. Eat Well. Move More.
