I realized on Friday afternoon that saying I'd do cardio on Friday and do the weight training on Saturday was a cop out. I don't like weight training and putting it off, even just for a day, seemed like a big lame-o excuse. Maybe Saturday would get busy and I wouldn't fit it. . . So, I did my weights on Friday. On Saturday morning when I weighed-in, I was at -1.5 for the day and -37 total. Very cool. I ended up not exercising on Saturday (good thing I did weights on Friday!) but we did shop for 7-8 hours. Not a formal or controlled exercise but I was definitely active, walking and standing (versus sitting on my kiester) most of the time, other than lunch and driving time. I did step aerobics when I got home last night. I increased from the 4 inch platform I was using to the 6 in platform for about the first 25 minutes. What a difference 2 inches makes! But, my heart rate stayed too high so I went back to the 4 inch platform for the last 20 minutes. I'll probably keep starting at the 6 inch and going back to 4 inches (when needed), until I can get all the way through.
Over the weekend, I didn't really stay to my eating plan. On Saturday (the big shopping day), lunch was good (a chicken sandwich and green beans) but then I had a small dish of Cold Stone ice cream. OMG, it was so good (banana and chocolate ice creams). Then, we had pizza for super. That was good too. On Sunday, it was pretty much a full day of standing while we made about 7-8 different kinds of cookies. Lunch was a taco salad. I had a small bowl of soup for dinner. I probably ate the equivalent of 3-4 small to medium cookies. Naughty! It's so hard not to eat the spritz when they 'break' after being baked. All in all, I probably ate WAY worse than I normally do but I think the extra activity, and the extra water I tried to drink, helped keep my weight stable. When I weighed in today, I was exactly even with my Saturday number. I'm very happy with that. After knowing I was 'off-plan' most of the weekend, I was expecting to be up at least a pound today. I'm strictly back on plan today. Today is a weight day again. Cardio tomorrow, then weights again on Wednesday with Renee.
People keep telling me that after weight training for a while, I'll really like it. It's been 5 weeks. So far, still not liking it. I may never love it. May never even like it. But I intend to keep at it.
